Being in the first part a brief report on Saturday's game, which may be of little interest to those who know not of ( Advancing Civilisations. )
We then relaxed and had some alcohol until Penny came back in from a meal with
snoj and Jenny sans LJ, at which point alcohol consumption continued and we went to bed at about 3am after locals had gone/been taken home.
Sunday saw a lie-in, then some gentle boardgaming followed by a massive amount of roast pork and trimmings supplied by Pen, who'd kept us in food the previous afternoon as well. She's fantastic, is my wife.
Dropped Andy at Parkway to catch the train home and my brother Martin turned up with his wife, Bec. They'd braved The Mall that afternoon, poor things, and needed a restorative coffee before heading back to Cardiff. Afterwards, two games of Puerto Rico, one of which I won, then clearing up and an episode of B5 before bedtime.
We'd like to hold another game of Civ at the end of Feb/early March. The plan is for folks to arrive on Friday night. We will socialise, set up the game and play a teaching/learning session for about three hours, so that any folks who are new to the game get a good grasp of how it works. We then move on to a full (seven, perhaps eight player) game on the Saturday, starting at 1030/1100 and playing through to a finish.
Expressions of interest to me or
curlwomble.
Oh, and if it gets arranged for 12th/13th March enjoy it, but I'll not be playing as the Sunday is Pen's birthday and she is more important to me than a game (heresy though this may be to some people).
