Where does the time go?
Sep. 19th, 2005 03:56 pmWe're off on The Big Adventure in 10 days now.
I spent some of this morning booking a hotel for Heathrow for next Wednesday night. At lunchtime on Thursday we're being flown to Singapore, so we'll need to check in shortly after 9, which means we need the hotel. A bit of a bother and More Expense.
Still and all, we had some positive developments last week. Penny was rung by the travel agents with the news that our Singapore hotel (the 4 Star Shangri-La Sentosa Resort) was overbooked. Would we mind moving? Hmm, we think. It's alright, says they. The company are offering you the 5 Star sister hotel in the centre of the city, next door to (and second only to) Raffles. Plus you get a free evening meal in the restaurant of your choice from the four in the hotel. We had to think long and hard about that one...
So we're currently on "lasts". Last visit before heading off to my Mum and Dad. Mum's been home from the hospital nearly a fortnight now and is recovering incredibly well. In fact, the only person who's disappointed with her progress is Mum herself. Last boardgames session on Wednesday. Last weekend before the trip coming up, then the last few days in work.
Are we looking forward to this? You bet your life we are!
