Plans and Contingencies

Plan A
The lads get the go-ahead on their mortgage. We exchange contracts today and complete on Friday. We move on Friday.

Plan B
The lads don't get an immediate go-ahead. We ask Kingsoak about the possibility of delaying completion. They say ok. We move in two to three weeks.

Plan C
Kingsoak aren't prepared to be flexible. We sell to the lads anyway when they're ready to go. We have to move out, put furniture into storage (lads get asked for a contribution to the cost) and start looking for another house. Penny moves in with her parents for the duration, while I continue to occupy The Cell during the week. This does have some advantages. We'd not be paying out mortgage or council tax for the interim. We can tell Halifax where to go and take our business back to Nationwide. We can wait for a house of the right type and the right price to be ready at Fairfield Park. We get to see more of each other, as Chadwell Heath can be much more easily reached on weekday evenings.

Plan D
We tell the lads to bugger off and put the house back on the market. With a different estate agent.
