Date: 2003-09-26 04:19 am (UTC)The one thing I'm interested in is why didn't SH allow the inspectors greater freedom - if he didn't have any WMDs then why not admit that? I don't think that the real reason could have been just to defy the US, as he must have realised he wouldn't be allowed to get away with it. Maybe he couldn't risk the rest of the Arab world discovering how little he actually had in the way of weapons? Makes you think what a difficult position he might have been in, his only real way out was to keep the farce going as long as possible in order to arrange his own escape.
Anyone got any interesting conspiracy theories about SH's motives?
