Apparently, just Gillett's total bollocks
Oct. 13th, 2009 01:14 pmVarious reports this morning (notably Autosport) that Simon Gillett was, shall we say, "finessing" the situation when he said he had two more weeks to sort out the Donington finances.
Bernie's reported as saying that he told Gillett he was in breach of contract and that the contract gives parties to it 14 days to remedy any breach. Presumably this means that if Gillett can't sort himself out, he forfeits not just next year but the entire 17-year deal. Bernard Charles said according to BBC report that "Silverstone will have the opportunity of exactly the same contract as Donington". I can't see Silverstone signing exactly the same - they'll want to have very firm words about the price tag, but on the whole much more promising.
